1. Overview of e-Discovery and initial expectation for IT operations
   
   Campus Counsel Amy Blum described the revised federal rules for preserving electronic materials for litigation. UC is preparing systemwide guidelines for compliance, but campuses have been faced with immediate needs. Blum discussed an interim set of measures for compliance developed for UCLA and how they impact IT staff. She asked all divisions to send their written policies about backups and archives to Susan Mangel at smangel@conet.ucla.edu. Much further discussion is needed and will be a topic for the next CSG meeting. (Kent Wada; 5 minute update).
