3)      UCLA Policy 411 - Domain Names (Kent Wada)

This revision of UCLA Policy 411 reflects a simplified set of criteria for requesting Internal UCLA Domain Names. The relevant changes have been highlighted.

 

Objective: Recommendation to the ITPB.

 

CSG Action: Review and provide input on revised policy.

 

 

4)      Security Issues (Kent Wada, John DeGolyer)

 

a.      UCLA Policy 401 - Minimum Security Standards

This version (a) reflects the input received from the February CSG meeting and (b) puts the text into standard UCLA administrative policies format. Changes based on input received from CSG have been highlighted. Proposed implementation deadline now coincides with the start of Fall Quarter.

 

Objective: Around the table vote.

 

CSG Action: Review and endorse draft copy of the Minimum Security Standards for Networked Devices.

 

b.      Server-side Digital Certificates

 

Objective: Determine if some coordinated action is appropriate; and if so, what.

 

CSG Action: Survey the group as to their current uses and needs for server-side certs.

 

c.       Spyware and Adware

 

Objective: Determine if some coordinated action is appropriate; and if so, what.

 

CSG Action: Survey the group about how serious a problem/priority it feels spyware and adware are.
